Steiff, the legendary German plush toy company, is famous for its artistry, beauty, and lasting quality. They produced incredible stuffed animals of every type, including super fun hand puppets, like this Wittie Owl. In addition to its attractive appearance, this toy is also special because it's in excellent condition, complete with crisp tags and nice coloring. This model was handcrafted between 1959-67 in Germany using the nicest mohair plush. It has amazing airbrushing details and two amusing flapping wings. Its endearing felt beak is an indication of an early model. Little black tufts on the top of its head complete its friendly personality. Wittie's face is stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and has a cardboard finger tube for movement. This playful little bird puppet can't wait to join your vintage toy collection!
