Steiff, the legendary German plush toy company, is famous for its artistry, beauty, and lasting quality. The company produced amazing stuffed animals of every type, including super fun hand puppets, like this Possy squirrel. Its sweet and delicate expression with glass eyes is adorable. Like other toys of the time, this hand puppet was finely handcrafted in Germany and uses the nicest mohair plush. The gray version of this character was produced between 1959-61. Due to its short production timeline Possy is somewhat rare! Its head is stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and has a cardboard finger tube for movement. Little squirrel is in gently used condition with nice coloring. It still retains the Steiff chest tag but the button and ear tag are no longer present. Don't wait!
