Steiff, the legendary German plush toy company, is famous for its artistry, beauty, and lasting quality. The company produced amazing stuffed animals of every type, including super fun hand puppets, like this classic design of the young Lion. Its sweet look with expressive glass eyes is adorable! The nice airbrushing work gives this character an amazing distressed look that everyone adores. It has nylon whiskers and the nose/mouth is hand stitched. As other Steiff toys of the time, this puppet was expertly handmade in Germany using the finest mohair plush circa 1950-60s. Its head is stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and has a cardboard finger tube for movement. Lion Cub has been gently used but has lost its IDs during its decades of life.
