Steiff has created some of the most beautiful plush animals and Wittie Owl is no exception, especially when it appears as a hand puppet. Its eye-catching look with expressive eyes and plastic beak is adorable. Similar to other toys of the time, Wittie was finely handcrafted in Germany using the nicest mohair plush circa 1970s. It has very nice airbrushing details and two amusing flapping wings. Little black tufts on the top of its head complete its wise personality. Wittie's head is stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and has a plastic finger tube for movement. This puppet has been gently used and still shows nice coloring. It retains the Steiff button on its wing but has lost the other IDs. Little Owl can't wait to be part of your vintage toy collection!
