And this Kitty has a truly lovely expression with endearing glass eyes, an indication of an early model handcrafted in Germany circa 1950-60s. Kitty's nose/mouth is hand-stitched. The striped airbrushing work performed on this puppet is really nice. Tabby's head is stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and has a cardboard finger tube for movement. This sweet little puppet has been well loved! It is missing all Steiff IDs and the plush has yellowed/soiled with time. There are some matted/bald areas, gained during its many decades of life and the bow is very worn. But all imperfections don't detract from its sweet and loving personality.
