Steiff, the legendary German plush toy company, is famous for its artistry, beauty, and lasting quality. The company produced incredible stuffed animals of every type, including super fun hand puppets, like this adorable Terrier Dog. This old little hand puppet is a charming example of Steiff's prewar hand puppets. It was beautifully handmade in Germany between 1913-34. Its endearing expression with glass eyes and multicolored ears is adorable. Just by its proportions and the way it is sewn, you can tell how meticulously crafted this old toy was. Little Terrier has been loved and shows mohair wear with some bald spots and stains. Terrier's head is firmly stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and has a cardboard finger tube for movement. Steiff's trademark "Button in Ear" is still present with remnants of the white tag. This very rare hand puppet can't wait to be adopted again and join your antique toy collection!
