Here's a spectacular Judy hand puppet, the bad-tempered wife of the world renown glove puppet Mr Punch. Judy's wooden head is intricately carved and beautifully hand painted. The expression on her face is stunning. Her hands are also finely crafted from wood. This puppet is a rarity made in Germany circa late 1800s! It has a fabric dress with lovely lace details but it shows heavy wear with several large holes. The dress is also poorly attached to the head. The condition of the front is not as bad as the back, so the puppet can still be displayed reasonably well using a stand (not included). The head also shows wear with chips, scuffs, cracking and paint loss. Please note that the wooden legs are missing. Perfect for puppet fans and antique collectors alike, this unique piece of history will be a nice addition to your collection!
