Harro Siegel (1900-1985) is a legendary German puppeteer. His accomplishments as an artist, puppet maker, performer and teacher makes him an important figure in the world of puppetry. His puppet creations combine both visual beauty and outstanding carving designs and are very rare and highly sought after!
Here's one of his wonderful creations depicting a Witch Puppet Head with an amazing expression. Finely hand crafted in Germany circa 1940s, this piece is exceptional in every detail. Once part of a full body hand puppet (see last picture as a reference), this head is carved in such way that appears to have multiple expressions depending on the angle it is held. It has been used and shows wear with paint loss, scuffs, fading etc. Overall the structure is solid but please note that the tip of the nose and the neck base are chipped! As a result the head does not stand on its own base and requires a stand, not included in this sale. Don't miss this chance to bring home a rare museum piece by one of the greatest German puppet designers!
