Till De Kock (1915-2010) was a highly-skilled German wood sculptor who produced over thousands of puppets throughout his career. He worked with theatrical companies and television programs. He created an innovative "cut" approach to wood carving, distinct from the well-recognized Hohnsteiner style.
Here's a Gretel hand puppet finely handcrafted in Germany by him circa 1960s. She is nicely hand painted and has a gorgeous expression. Her structure is solid but she shows some age wear, gained during her many years of life. Please note that her apron has some light age stains. Her imperfections, however, give this piece a unique personality full of vintage charm. Gretel is certainly a special find and will be a great addition to your vintage puppet collection!
