Farnell Teddy Bear Hand Puppet ~ 1920s Rare!

One of the leading English Teddy Bear manufacturers, Alpha Farnell became a trademark in 1925 and produced wonderful soft toys up to 1960s, when it ceased production. It's believed that one of the Alpha Bears inspired the creation of Winnie the Pooh. This exquisite Teddy Bear Hand Puppet is a testament to Farnell's beauty! Carefully crafted from mohair plush with hand-stitched nose and endearing button eyes, this stunning piece is a must have for collectors. Its head is stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and it has felt paw pads. This puppet is unmarked and its appearance attests to being enjoyed, evidenced by some bald spots and matted areas, yet it maintains a great deal of charm and personality. The plastic collar seems like a newer addition. Little Teddy hand puppet can't wait to join your vintage toy collection!
