Bross MAID Hand Puppet ~ circa 1950s Rare!



Fritz Herbert Bross (1910-1976) was a German puppet maker and puppeteer that came from a family of wood sculptors. Originally trained as an engineer, he devoted his life to the world of puppets, developing some outstanding characters for puppeteers and theater companies alike. His creations combine a refined visual sensibility with a mastery of all technical aspects behind a professional puppet. His puppets are rare and highly sought after!

Here's one of his wonderful creations depicting a Maid Hand Puppet with the nicest expression. This puppet's head is beautifully carved and masterfully hand painted! Her pointy nose is just incredible! She wears a fabric hat and a silk dress. Please note that the hands show age wear and the dress have some small holes. Similar to other mid-century Bross creations, this old lady character is marked "Bross" behind her neck. Don't miss the opportunity of adding this rare hand puppet to your collection!
