Steiff, the legendary German plush toy company, is famous for its artistry, beauty, and lasting quality. They produced incredible stuffed animals of every type, including super fun hand puppets, like this classic design of Leo the Lion. This puppet has a very endearing look with embroidered nose and mouth. Like similar Steiff toys of the time, it was expertly made in Germany circa 1960-70s using the finest mohair plush. The gorgeous airbrushing work and its pronounced tipped mane give this character a distressed look that everyone adores. Its head is stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and has a plastic finger tube for head movement. Leo has been used and has lost its IDs. But is still in good condition and very charming.
