During the 60-80s Steiff, the legendary German plush toy company, introduced several hand puppets depicting human figures. And of course fairy tale characters were also present on this list. Here's Hansel, Gretel's partner, produced between 1969-78. Similar to other toys of the time, this puppet was finely handcrafted in Germany and has an adorable expression. Hansel wears a traditional costume with a flannel shirt. His hands and hat are felt. The head is made from painted PVC and has a plastic finger insert for movement. He has been used and lost all his tags. The feather on his hat is missing and there's a small hole where the Steiff button used to be. This charming little character can't wait to join your toy collection!
