Famed for its Hugmee Bears, Chiltern is a celebrated English toy maker. Taking its name from the Chiltern Hills of Buckinghamshire, the company crafted an array of Teddy Bears before closing its doors in the 1960s (later purchased by Chad Valley). This Monkey Hand Puppet is one of their creations and is made from art silk plush with an expressive plastic/rubber face. It retains the cloth ID tag reading "Chiltern Hygienic Toys". Its appearance attests to being enjoyed, evidenced by matted areas and staining, yet it maintains a great deal of charm and personality.
