Founded in 1925, KERSA is Europe's leading hand puppet maker. Crafting puppets has been a family tradition over four generations and the company is still in production today. KERSA stands for "Kreative Erzeugnisse Realisiert im Spielwaren Atelier", a German phrase that conveys their main vision: to create products in an artistic manner while promoting the children's imagination.
This John Bull Hand Puppet is an example of Kersa's amazing craftsmanship and was made in Mindelheim, Germany, circa 1960s. He is a very rare character, hardly ever seen. His stout appearance with hand stitched features is adorable. He is a satirical personification of the United Kingdom. He is missing the Kersa paper ID, otherwise he would wear a tag #323 with his name on the back. His body is made of felt with detailed felt hands and hat. The head is stuffed with soft material and has a cardboard finger tube for movement. Some age stains are present, otherwise in good condition. Little John Bull can't wait to join your vintage toy collection!
