Dating back from 1915, Chad Valley is one of the most recognizable Toymakers in England. And no better than the children's TV character Sooty to embody their world of creations. This Sooty Bear Hand Puppet has a very sweet expression with hand stitched nose and mouth. It features glass eyes, an indication of an early model made circa 1950s. It was nicely crafted from mohair plush and has rexine (oilcloth) paw pads and a head stuffed with excelsior (wood wool). Chad Valley's label is worn but still present. This puppet has been loved and the plush shows wear with matted areas and bald spots. The rexine pads also show wear. Little Sooty Bear hand puppet can't wait to join your vintage toy collection!
