This lovable GRETEL hand puppet is an amazing work of craftsmanship, brought to life by the masterful German wood sculptor, Till De Kock (1915-2010)! He made thousands of puppets in his long career, and this puppet is a great example of his creations, similar to the well-recognized Hohnsteiner carving style! This piece has a large carved and hand painted head. The body and hands are part of the same long fabric sleeve with lining, an indication that it might have been created for professional use. This puppet has an aura of vintage charm, despite the years of wear that have left it with paint scuffs and a damaged costume with several holes/tears. A real piece of art, this exceptional puppet will be a great addition to your vintage collection!
