Here's the main couple of the world renown Punch & Judy Show! The mischievous Mr. Punch with his bad-tempered wife Judy. These are rare finds from an old hand puppet set. They have finely carved wooden heads and are also beautifully hand painted. They have fabric bodies with some lovely small detailed wooden hands. Mr Punch has wooden feet and his legs are filled with excelsior (wood wool). Judy doesn't have legs. They are from German origin, likely made in the early 1900s. They have solid structure and display very well, but they show play wear, gained during their many years of life. Judy might have been redressed. Despite their imperfections this lovely couple is full of charm and personality. Welcome this great piece of history to your vintage toy puppet collection!
