DAKIN King Friday and Queen Sara Saturday Hand Puppets ~ 1988

This King Friday XIII and Queen Sara Saturday hand puppets were made by DAKIN in 1988 and are a recreation of the original characters from the PBS program hosted by Fred Rogers, Children's Corner. Mister Rogers wanted to make Friday 13th a fun day for kids and named the King after this superstitious date – that would also be the King's birthday. On the other hand, the Queen’s character was named after his wife, Sara Joanne Rogers. Both puppets have hard plastic heads and bodies made from synthetic fabric. Their sweet expression with long capes are adorable. They are small and stand approximately 8.5'' (22cm) tall. They have been gently used and are well preserved with nice coloring. Welcome home some more vintage puppet characters from beloved Mr. Rogers!
