Bross CLOWN Hand Puppet ~ circa 1950s Rare!

Fritz Herbert Bross (1910-1976) was a German puppet maker and puppeteer that came from a family of wood sculptors. Originally trained as an engineer, he devoted his life to the world of puppets, developing some outstanding characters for puppeteers and theater companies alike. His creations combine a refined visual sensibility with a mastery of all technical aspects behind a professional puppet. His puppets are rare and highly sought after!

Here's one of his wonderful creations depicting a hand puppet Clown with the nicest expression. His head is beautifully carved and hand painted. He wears a gorgeous and colorful fabric costume with felt details and hanging legs. Similar to other mid-century Bross creations, this Clown is marked "Bross" behind his neck and the craftsmanship is just remarkable! Little Clown is in good vintage condition and will be a great addition to your collection!
