ANKER Bear Hand Puppet ~ 1960-70s

Germany is home to one of the most prized plush-making industries in Europe. There are countless brands that enchanted children with their amazing soft toys. Founded in 1954, the Anker brand is one of these companies that also produced a variety of hand puppets. Famous for the comical Mule character Mufti, the company closed its doors in the late 70s. Here's a nice example of one of their hand puppets. A Teddy Bear finely handcrafted in Munich using mohair plus hand plastic eyes. Its head is stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and has a cardboard finger tube for movement. This puppet has been loved and shows play wear. It has some bald spots and an old repair on the side seam. This adorable puppet can't wait to join your vintage toy collection!
