Steiff, the legendary German plush toy company, is famous for its artistry, beauty, and lasting quality. The company produced amazing stuffed animals of every type, including super fun hand puppets, like this classic design of Wittie the Owl. Its eye-catching look with expressive eyes and plastic beak is adorable. Similar to other toys of the time, Wittie was finely handcrafted in Germany using the nicest mohair plush circa 1970s. It has very nice airbrushing details and two amusing flapping wings. Little black tufts on the top of its head complete its wise personality. Wittie's head is stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and has a plastic finger tube for movement. This puppet has been gently used and still shows nice coloring but has lost its Steiff IDs. Little Owl can't wait to be part of your vintage toy collection!
