Dating back from 1915, Chad Valley is one of the most recognizable Toymakers in England. And no better than the children's TV character Sooty to embody Chad Valleys world of creations. This Sooty Bear Hand Puppet has a very sweet expression with hand stitched nose and mouth. It was nicely crafted from mohair plush and has rexine (oilcloth) paw pads and a head stuffed with excelsior (wood wool). It is missing Chad Valley's label but the plastic eyes is an indication that this toy was made circa 1960s. This puppet has been loved and the plush shows wear with matted areas and bald spots. The rexine pads are still in good shape. show a lot of wear. Little Sooty Bear hand puppet can't wait to join your vintage toy collection!
