Steiff, the legendary German plush toy company, is famous for its artistry, beauty and lasting quality. The company produced incredible stuffed animals of every type, including super fun hand puppets, like this eye-catching Snake! A reptile is rarely seen as a plush toy but Steiff made it, but ONLY during 1965-66. Due its very short production time, this puppet became one of the rarest post war Steiff puppets. It was given the name Snaky and is highly collectible. It uses the nicest mohair plush and its airbrushing work is truly remarkable! This is also a large and fun "mouth style" hand puppet that can well fit an adult hand. The snapping possibilities are endless. Snaky is gently used and has very nice coloring. It still retains the Steiff button and yellow flag #0320,00. The felt mouth and the tongue are original but please note that there is some damage where the synthetic leather tongue is sewn to the felt mouth.
