Steiff has made some of the nicest forest animals in the market and this Young Lion hand puppet certainly honors the reputation. Its sweet look with expressive glass eyes is adorable! The nice airbrushing work gives this character an amazing distressed look that everyone adores. It has nylon whiskers and the nose/mouth is hand stitched. Like other Steiff toys of the time, this puppet was expertly handmade in Germany using the finest mohair plush circa 1950s. Its head is stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and has a cardboard finger tube for movement. Lion Cub has been loved and has some age stains in its body. But they blend in with the natural colors of the toy. It no longer retains any IDs. This rare and early character can't wait to be part of your vintage toy collection!
