Based on a classic mid century Steiff design, this Young Lion hand puppet has an irresistible baby-like expression that is adorable! It is a very special puppet not only because of its sweet look but also due to its unusual wool plush, dating its production between 1949-54. As other Steiff toys of the time, this puppet was expertly handmade in Germany using the finest materials. The nice airbrushing work gives this character an amazing distressed look that everyone adores. This puppet has endearing glass eyes and embroidered nose and mouth. Its head is stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and has a cardboard finger tube for movement. This rare little puppet will certainly be a very special addition to any vintage toy collection!
