The world of Steiff creations is vast and no species are left behind. Along with the most known bears, cats and dogs the company also developed some very unusual characters. Rooster hand puppet is a great example of a bird that is rarely seen as a plush toy. This puppet was finely handcrafted in Germany between 1968-74, a relatively short production time. Its majestic felt crest, plastic beak and flapping wings are adorable. Steiff uses the nicest mohair plush and Rooster has an incredible presence, even after years of play wear. There are stains on the back of its head, felt crest and marks on the beak. The puppet retains the Steiff button on its wing. Its head is stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and has a plastic finger tube for movement. This playful little bird will certainly be a welcome addition to any vintage toy collection!
