Steiff, the iconic plush toy company founded in Germany, is internationally renowned for its artistry, beauty, and lasting value. It began in 1880 with the seamstress Margarete Steiff, and was later expanded by the creativity of her nephew, Richard Steiff, who invented the world's first Teddy bear with movable limbs.
Animals of all types are part of Steiff creations, among them the Penguin Hand Puppet here. With its eye-catching look, all IDs and excellent-condition, this puppet is special! Penguin seems to be unused and has an amazing presence with expressive googly eyes, a colorful felt beak and two tiny wings. It was finely handcrafted in Germany between 1968-1976 and uses the nicest mohair plush. Its deep and lustrous quality is hard to capture in pictures. Its head is stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and has a plastic finger tube for movement. This delightful hand puppet is an heirloom-worthy treasure!
