Steiff, the iconic plush toy company founded in Germany, is internationally renowned for its artistry, beauty, and lasting value. It began in 1880 with the seamstress Margarete Steiff, and was later expanded by the creativity of her nephew, Richard Steiff, who invented the world's first Teddy bear with movable limbs.

The company has created some very sweet dog characters and Mopsy Pug is for sure one of them. As a hand puppet it is even more playful. With wide googly eyes, stitched nose and a cheerful felt tongue sticking out, Mopsy is really adorable! Expertly handcrafted in Germany circa 1960-70s using the finest mohair plush, Mopsy's head is filled with excelsior (wood wool) and has a cardboard finger tube for movement. This puppet has been used but still retains its ear button. It's missing the ear and chest tags and the bow. Bring this endearing hand puppet to your vintage toy collection today!
