Steiff has created some of the most adorable plush toys and Loopy Wolf as a hand puppet is certainly one of them. Loopy was finely handcrafted in Germany circa 1960s using the nicest mohair plush. It has expressive glass eyes and a hand stitched nose. But what makes this character so distinct from other mid-century Steiff puppets is its eye-catching open mouth with prominent teeth. Its felt tongue sticking out completes its irresistible vintage look. Loopy's head is stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and has a plastic finger tube for movement. Loopy will surely be a welcome addition to any puppet or Steiff collection!
