Else Hecht was born in 1888 in Munich. She was a craftswoman, puppeteer and came from a family of artists. Her puppets and dolls are rare and highly sought after. Here's one of her wonderful creations depicting a mysterious Witch. This puppet has a pressed felt face with button/sequin eyes, wire glasses, wool hair and painted features. Her body is made of felt with a fabric apron. Similar to other Else Hecht toys of the early-mid 1900s, this puppet was finely handcrafted in Germany using the best available materials. The attention to detail and craftsmanship are remarkable. This puppet was gently used and is overall in good condition. Note that her glasses are rusty and there are some light stains on her back. She no longer retains the Else Hecht tag. Don't wait to welcome this very special hand puppet to your vintage toy collection!
