Else Hecht was born in 1888 in Munich. She was a craftswoman, puppeteer and came from a family of artists. Her puppets and dolls are rare and highly sought after. Here's one of her wonderful creations depicting a Jester with the nicest expression. This puppet has a pressed felt face with button eyes and delicate painted features. He is a full body character made of felt with hanging legs. Similar to her other toys of the 1920-30s, this puppet was finely handcrafted in Germany using the best available materials. The attention to detail and craftsmanship are remarkable. This puppet shows some sings of age but overall is in good condition. Note the nose is pushed down. Whether you are a puppet enthusiast or an Else Hecht collector don't wait to welcome this very special hand puppet to your collection!
