Else Hecht was born in 1888 in Munich. She was a craftswoman, puppeteer and came from a family of artists. Her puppets and dolls are rare and highly sought after. Here's one of her wonderful creations depicting a very expressive Devil. This puppet has a pressed felt face with button/sequin eyes and painted features. He has a long felt tongue and animal fur details. His body is made of felt and has a long tail! Similar to other Else Hecht toys of the early-mid 1900s, this puppet was finely handcrafted in Germany using the best available materials. The attention to detail and craftsmanship are remarkable. This puppet was gently used and is overall in good condition. Note the a small hole on the face showing the excelsior stuffed head. The Else Hecht tag is present inside the body. Don't wait to welcome this very special hand puppet to your vintage toy collection!
