STEIFF Jocko Monkey Hand Puppet ~ 1930s

Monkeys are legacy animals for Steiff and were produced since the early years of the company. This very old Jocko hand puppet is a great example of this iconic character and was beautifully handmade in Germany around the 1930s. Just by the way his hands are sewn you can tell how meticulously crafted this puppet was. His handsome look, with pocket glass eyes, gives him a captivating expression that is hard not to fall in love with. Jocko's head is firmly stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and has a cardboard finger tube for movement. This puppet has been well loved and shows play wear, gained during his almost 100 years of life. But his imperfections only give him an added layer of charm and personality! He still retains Steiff's trademark "Button in Ear" and will be a great addition to any Old Toy Collection.
