STEIFF Froggy Hand Puppet ~ 1963-67

The world of Steiff creations is vast and no species are left behind. Along with the well known domestic animals, the company also developed some unusual aquatic characters like this Frog! And as a hand puppet Froggy is even more amuzing. Its oversized eyes are very eye-catching. Its head is hollow and made from soft plastic/rubber. The lack of a finger tube is a design particularity of this puppet. Its mouth is movable by placing your finger inside the lower lip. The body uses double-colored velvet and the tip of the hands are stuffed with excelsior (wood wool). This playful little Frog has been used but is still in nice condition. It retains its button and yellow tag #0417,00. Froggy can't wait to be part of your vintage toy collection.

  • Condition: Used and pre-owned vintage puppet. With button and yellow tag #0417,00. Missing chest tag. Some light age stains/soiling on the front body and mouth. Please determine the condition by yourself, taking a close look at all pictures and asking questions.

    Wonderful Company!

I collect frogs and found out about Once Upon a Puppet while searching for Steiff frog puppets. The website is attractive and well organized, and I wound up purchasing 2 other puppets, both ~100 years old and from Punch and Judy theaters. The owner is personable, service oriented, and friendly, the shipping is quick, and even the packaging is prepared with care to demonstrate the added personal touches of a small company aiming to please. Anyone interested in antique puppets should make Once Upon a Puppet their first stop!
