KASPER Puppet Head ~ Expressionist circa 1960s

Here's a spectacular head of a Kasper. This piece was finely handcrafted in Germany circa 1960s and has an amazing expressionist quality to it. Its carving technique using layers of wood is unusual and very interesting. The head is also beautifully hand painted with vibrant paint strokes. There is a hole on the bottom of the neck, an indication that it was created to be a puppet head. The piece also works nicely as a stand alone sculpture. It shows some wear but its imperfections adds an extra layer of charm and personality. This great piece of craftsmanship will certainly be a special addition to your vintage puppet collection or a nice decorative touch to your home.
